I’m Back!

The S.S. Mommy is back since being on hiatus for nearly a year. A lot has changed here with my family since I last posted to the blog and now I’m ready to get back on track and start posting once again.
I know I had a few loyal subscribers that have been asking when the S.S. Mommy was coming back and so here it is.
I wanted to update everyone with some of the changes that have been happening since I last posted. First of all I’m no longer a single mommy so I’ve changed the focus of S.S. Mommy from a blog for single moms to being a blog for all moms. I’ve met a wonderful man in the past year and he has made a wonderful addition to our family although we haven’t discussed marriage too much just yet.
My eldest son Travis is now 19 and has graduated from high school. Yipee!! He still struggles with his bipolar issues and will for the rest of his life. He will be living in a group home and starting a job; if his counselor feels he is capable of living on his own then he may move to an apartment but for now it is best for him to have someone help him with some basic living skills such as cooking, cleaning, taking his meds, and etc.
My other children are done with school for the summer and won’t be going back to public school in the fall. It is my plan to begin homeschooling them once again as I feel this is the best option for our family. Their dad isn’t too thrilled with the idea so we are just waiting to see how much of a fight he actually puts up when we get started.
As for me, well I’ve switched schools as well as majors. I am now enrolled in the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online in the Web Design and Media Communications Bachelor program. I love the online learning environment and am having a great time with all the classes that I have been taking.
I’m not sure how often I will be posting to the blog but for now my goal is once a week. I’m also working on Twitter and once I have that all figured out I’ll let you all know how to find me there as well.
So anyway for now welcome back to all my readers who have missed me. I look forward to connecting with everyone once again. I’m going to be adding a summer survival kit in the next few days just be on the lookout for that. Have a great evening!
